Certification Assessment

Applicants may challenge the assessment for any program dependent upon their experience and knowledge.  Applicants must meet the prerequisites before taking the exam.

Assessment Information

Online Proctoring – A monitored online examination delivery with identity verification and video recording.  Using a computer or webcam with an internet connection, students can take a proctored exam online conveniently and affordably.

Exam Results

Passing is 75% (excludes product-specific exams) on all ISP exams.  If a candidate is not successful, then he or she can retake the examination after 30 days at no additional cost.  All retakes must be completed within one year from the initial exam date.

Option 1: A written assessment only and the candidate must have a passing score of 75%. The assessment is taken online with a proctor.
Option 2: A practical and written assessment. Candidates must have a 75% combined score for certification. The practical is conducted live with the written test taken online and is proctored. Online students can be assessed for the practical assessment through Teams or Zoom if necessary.

Impartiality

Passing is 75% (excludes product-specific exams) on all ISP exams.  If a candidate is not successful, then he or she can retake the examination after 30 days.  All retakes must be completed within one year from the initial exam date.  If one takes the exam online with Proctorial the results will display immediately after completing the test. If a test is taken either online or on paper, ISP will process and mail the exam results and certification materials to you within 10-15 business days.

ISP Certification Benefits

An ISP Certification signifies that the holder demonstrates professional proficiency within a certain discipline.  Certification holders are recognized as having the necessary knowledge and technical skill in Homeland Security according to industry standards.
