Natural and man-made disasters are becoming more common around the world. Exposure from radiation, solids, liquids, gases, and particulates are increasingly impacting animals. Emergency preparedness plans should take into account household pets, wildlife, poultry, livestock, and service animals before, during, and after a disaster. A Certification in Animal Decontamination helps to open dialogues between those responding to assist humans with those who assist the animals.
